How should SAND reinvest available revenue generated by the 2022 Makers Festival?

SAND was very fortunate to have an extremely successful first run of the Ormewood Park Makers Festival earlier this year. Approximately $15k in revenue was generated! A big thank you to our generous sponsors, the incredible line up of artist market vendors, workshop hosts, musicians, and food vendors, and of course every single festivalgoer! SAND will use some of the revenue for operating expenses of the organization, a "rainy day" fund for any future pandemics or economic downturns, and things of that nature. For the available revenue we want to crowdsource the community for ideas on what to do with that money. What would you like to see be done with that money?

  • More social events?

  • A neighbor in need program?

  • Mural installations in all SAND neighborhoods?

  • Donations to our schools?

  • A grant program?

  • Technology needed to run hybrid SAND meetings?

These are just some ideas we've kicked around as a group, but we're open to any idea you may have. So please, feel free to share any idea you have, big or small, on the Google Form at the following link: https://forms.gle/3eL2V4DtFbGKmZgK7

We will keep submissions to this form open till the end of October. The SAND board will then review submissions at the beginning of November and consolidate the list to 10 potential ideas. A poll will be published for the community to vote on their top choices from this list of 10 options with rank choice voting available.

Thanks in advance for your time and input!
