What is SAND?

South Atlantans for Neighborhood Development (SAND) is an umbrella organization that was formed in 1979 to serve the residents and businesses of the South East Atlanta neighborhoods situated between Grant Park and East Atlanta.  This includes Benteen Park, Boulevard Heights, Glenwood Park, McDonough-GuiceNorth Ormewood Park, Ormewood Park, and Woodland Hills.

The all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit corporation brings together residents from the seven neighborhoods for the purpose of improving the quality of life within our community, to promote discussions of issues affecting our neighborhoods, and to promote a sense of community pride and belonging.  You can read our By-laws here.  Our mailing address is PO Box 160296, Atlanta, GA 30316

Our meetings are on the 2nd Thursday of the month at  7:30pm.
